Support tailored to your needs.
Independent Life services can be arranged for as little as a few hours a week or up to 24 hours a day. Whatever your needs, we’re here to support you and those who care for you.

When you use Independent Life services, our Service Manager will talk with you in person to gain a thorough understanding of your needs. We then tailor our services to your preferences and health requirements and match you with a Wellbeing Assistant most suited to your particular needs.

Our range of services includes:
  • Home help - housekeeping, shopping, meal preparation, laundry, paying bills, medication reminders, garden maintenance
  • Personal care - help with grooming, showering, dressing, incontinence management
  • Wellbeing enhancing activities - support to do those things which interest you, bring you joy, and maintain your health & wellbeing.
  • Respite - company & assistance whilst your usual carer takes a break
  • Companionship - accompanying you on outings & appointments or sharing time at home
  • Dementia & Alzheimer's care - early stages
  • Information & linkage with other services - help to arrange any specialist domestic (eg: plumbing or electrical) or health services (eg physiotherapy or podiatry) you might need.

All Independent Life employees undergo thorough reference and police checks as a mandatory condition of employment, and our selective recruitment processes ensure that only people who share Independent Life’s philosophy and values become part of our team. We provide multi-phased training and on-going professional development so that our staff are equipped to consistently provide you with the highest standard of care and assistance. As the employer, Independent Life takes responsibility for all aspects of staff employment such as insurance, workers compensation, superannuation, scheduling and ongoing staff training.

Being part of a family network of care…
We understand the pressures families can face trying to meet the care needs of a loved one and the sense of responsibility attached to finding the right people to care for them. Whether we’re providing a little support to give primary carers a break or more extensive care in situations where family aren’t able to provide any direct care themselves, we regard it as a privilege to become part of a family’s network of support. Our staff are skilled at working collaboratively and sensitively in situations where there are multiple people involved in a person’s care.
